The Refuge Mission Foundation is investing heavily into the lives of people living in poverty, addiction, and homelessness in the Inner City of Edmonton. New building and economic developments in the Edmonton Downtown core continue to make life difficult for low income and impoverished people desiring to stay in the downtown. The lack of support in both physical and spiritual care have prompted the Mission Foundation to establish a drop-in center known as the “The Mission Hall“.
The Mission Hall is open from 5:30pm to 9pm everyday, 365 days a year.
This establishment located at 10542-96 Street, Edmonton, Alberta offers snacks and refreshments as well as a safe place to engage in Christian fellowship and care. This facility has been specifically designed to cater to the most vulnerable of the Inner City homeless or near homeless. The aim is to meet their immediate physical needs and provide the opportunity to hear the life changing message that Jesus Christ can bring to the world and to our lives.
The Mission Hall is run by Christian Leaders/Workers and Volunteers
We do this work because of our Love for Jesus and for others. We are Blessed!
All staff, whether Christian leaders/workers, or volunteers are not paid. Without these giving hearts – we would not be able to serve and operate as we do. Each person has a reason for leading/serving, and this ranges from being the “Hands and Feet of Jesus” to just wanting to help people that are not as fortunate. Actually, some of the volunteers are even some of the ones that we were serving; now they are serving others.
